Chimera Grid Tools version 3.0(ARC-16025-1C)

The Chimera Grid Tools (CGT) software package is used for performing pre- and post-processing of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis on complex configurations using overset grids. It contains a collection of software tools for performing geometry processing, surface and volume grid generation, grid manipulation and diagnostics, flow solver input preparation, multi-body dynamics input preparation and animation, flow solution visualization, debris trajectory analysis input preparation, strand grid and AMR Cartesian grid visualization, flow solution post-processing analysis including forces and moments computation, and convergence history visualization.Three new technologies have been developed for version 3.0:(1) The EPOGS toolset for the automation of overset structured mesh generation in CFD analyses of aerospace vehicles. This new technology typically reduces the process time from days to hours for simple cases, and from weeks to days for more complex cases.(2) An improved FFIO Library for the automation of reading and writing of data files used for overset grid CFD analyses including options for large single block grid i/o using sub-records or binary formats.(3) The BladeGen tool for generation of overset grids on rotor blades using the CGT libraries.
